About Us
Groove Garden is an ambitious all-women operation specializing in music supervision and licensing.
Helping our clients achieve the perfect synergy of music and visuals is our M.O., and we work with everybody, from household names to indie upstarts. We believe that relationships are everything, so we’re always accessible and fun to work with, and we have the networks in place to get you a great deal. We’re independent, creative people. We follow music and bands, not blogs. And our super-power is matching your work with the inspiring, attention-getting, goosebumps-producing soundtrack it deserves.
Music Supervisor
Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Melissa grew up listening to Barbra Streisand, Joni Mitchell and Harry Chapin. She is a lifelong musical theater and a cappella junky and has degrees in both advertising and music business.
Still and FOREVER based in Chicago, Melissa has been music supervising film, tv and advertising since 2007. Since then, she has prided herself on an honest and above-board approach to music supervision and licensing and letting the work speak for itself.
Melissa’s favorite things include but are not limited to: her husband, her 3 (holy sh*t yes 3) boy spawn, Harry (the sometimes dirty dog), coffee, nerdy tv, fresh air and sour candy.
Music supervisor
Vermont born and bred, Annie came to NYC in 2000 to attend NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts for Film. There, she focused on audio, studying everything from engineering and sound design to midi and musicology. Notably, she was able to take classes designed for The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music with its Chair, Jason King.
From retail and radio in high school to artist management in college, Annie has always worked in music. At David Newgarden’s management company, she also directed and sound mixed live videos for her faves Guided by Voices. But her true calling came in 2007 when Annie began her career in music supervision, a job that perfectly mixes her passions and backgrounds in music and film. She quickly made a name for herself landing major campaigns for Target, Vizio, JC Penney, and XM Radio to name a few.
Annie loves sharing good music and helping artists. In her spare time, Annie likes to paint, draw, record music, and rewatch 30 Rock.
